8-16-21 – This weeks learning targets…

1. Locate body cavities and list contents
2. Identify body directions
3. Identify body cavities and body planes

8/23-8/27 – This week we have been learning the parts of the cell and their function. We have created an analogy between the functioning parts of the cell and the functioning parts of a city.

8/31-9/3 – This week we are rotating through stations to learn the 4 main types of tissue of the human body, where they can be found and the function of each.

9/7-9/10/2021 – This week we are starting our unit on the Integumentary System. Our Learning targets include:

  1. Analyze the basic structures and functions of the integumentary system.
  2. Identify and explain medical terms related to the integumentary system.
  3. Research common diseases, disorders and emerging diseases of the integumentary
    system
  4. Make observations of the skin to include: color, temperature to touch, scarring, bruising,
    abrasions, lacerations, or other abnormalities.
  5. Discuss the role of the integumentary system in homeostasis regarding body temperature.
  6. Demonstrate measuring and recording of temperature, and identify abnormal results.

9/20-21 – This week we have started on our Skeletal System unit. our learning objectives are

  1. Analyze the basic structures and functions of the skeletal system, including locating and
    identifying the bones of the skeletal system and hemopoiesis.
  2. Differentiate between the axial and appendicular skeletons.
  3. Describe the development of the skeletal system.
  4. Locate and identify the types of joints in the skeletal system.
